Located just outside of beautiful, downtown Belfast. Maine, Peace Ridge operates a special satellite sanctuary for farmed animals and donkeys along with a benefit gift and vegan specialty shop. This family-friendly shelter is the perfect destination for animal lovers of all ages!

Summer & Fall Visiting Hours

Feel free to stop by during our open visiting hours to meet the animals, learn more about our work and other shelters, read to our donkeys, and check out our benefit gift and vegan speciality shop to find vegan snacks, ice cream and popsicles, fresh sanctuary-grown flowers, photography, and a range of gifts for all the animals lovers in your life!

Open: Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays

Hours: 10am – 4pm

Season: May 22 through October 31, 2026

Art for the Animals 25th Anniversary Celebration: Saturday, July 18

We’ll be hosting small pop-up events, weather depending, throughout the summer and fall season–from fun activities to kids to yoga–check back for additional events!

Holiday Benefit Shop 

Looking for the perfect holiday gift for an animal lover in your life? How about something special for a beloved animals, like a stocking fill with dog toys and treats?
Look no further than Peace Ridge’s benefit holiday shop at Little River Farm. You’ll find pesticide-free, wild-cut, sanctuary-grown Christmas trees, wreaths, kissing balls, wooden ornaments and a range of gifts, including photographs of our rescued animals, tote bags, books, pillows, team towels, candles, games, stuffed animals, t-shirts, calendars, animal sponsorship gifts, jewelry, cards, and more!
