Ideally, volunteers sign up to help on a weekly basis, though we occasionally allow volunteers who can come less regularly due to further travel distances or other reasons so long as the volunteer schedule is mutually agreed upon. We are proud of our extremely high standards of cleanliness and care at PRS. While some volunteers come to PRS expecting that working with farmed animals will be personally therapeutic, we ask applicants to realize that we are focused on what we can to help animals, not what they can do for us here at PRS. Everyone on our team is here to serve the animals. The work that we do can be challenging and demanding, but it can also be very fulfilling. We have found that our best volunteers are deeply motivated by their belief in our mission. Volunteering is a great way to gain valuable experience if you are interested in work at PRS or another farmed animal sanctuary in the future.
